How to change the watch face on a Garmin Fenix 9
Switching the face on the new Fenix 9 takes seconds. Like the Fenix 8 it has both a touchscreen and buttons, so there are two ways — and the steps are identical on the Fenix 9 Pro. Here are the exact steps, plus how to add a new face first.
On the Fenix 9
Using the touchscreen:
- Touch and hold the centre of the current face for a second.
- Swipe through your installed faces in the picker.
- Tap the one you want — it applies instantly.
Using the buttons: from the watch face, hold MENU (the middle-left button), then go to Watch Face, scroll with UP/DOWN and press START to select.
Add a new face first
To get a new face onto the Fenix 9, use the Connect IQ Store app: find a face, tap Download, then open Garmin Connect and let it sync over Bluetooth. It then appears in the face list on the watch. If a face will not show up
- Not synced: open Garmin Connect and sync; keep the watch nearby with Bluetooth on.
- Not supported: confirm the face lists the Fenix 9 as a compatible device.
- Slots full: remove an unused face in the Connect IQ app, then sync again.
