How to customize a Garmin watch face

Most good Garmin faces are configurable — accent colour, the data they show, 12/24-hour, and more. The settings usually live in the Connect IQ app, and the changes sync to your watch.

Where the settings live

Open the Connect IQ Store app on your phone, go to My Device → Watch Faces (or open the installed face), and tap Settings. Adjust the options, then open Garmin Connect to sync — the face updates on your next sync. Some watches also expose a few options directly under Settings → Watch Face on the device.

What you can usually change

• Accent colour — the highlight used for the colon, labels or markers.
• Data fields / complications — swap slots to heart rate, steps, calories, battery, Body Battery, distance, floors, sunrise and more.
• Time format — 12 or 24 hour, seconds on or off.
• Always-on behaviour — a dim mode to save battery (see always-on explained).
• Style toggles — things like Roman numerals, a negative LCD, or a different vessel, depending on the face.

Examples

Different faces expose different controls. Lumen has nine accent colours and five swappable slots; Horizon lets you pick three complications and an accent; Pour changes the drink and what drives the level. The principle is the same everywhere — settings in the app, sync to apply.
